The French Plait Hath No Secrets

French Plait
Rachel McAdams at the premiere of Sherlock Holmes

What I call a super-long side braid is apparently called a french plait. I am obsessed, hello Spring 2010! This alluring hairstyle could be spotted all over New York's runways, particularly the long catwalks of Alexander Wang and Miu Miu. Check out this video with 5 easy how-to steps to create your braid &/or plait, but don't forget to always make it your own. Try adding a scarf or ribbon like the bohemian-inspired braid from Hermes above. Lastly, if your hair just isn't quite long enough yet, I suggest you start taking some B-vitamins and amino acids. See your plait on the street!

360 Degrees and Still Wrapping

A must have Autumn staple, the circle scarf. Who likes the loose ends of a scarf falling off your shoulders anyway?! This scarf wraps once, twice, or three times depending on your preferred level of coziness. Make it your own by turning in into a hooded scarf on extra cold nights. Quite frankly, it's like wearing your bed out on the town. You can find the scarves above at American Apparel. I like them so much I am thinking of sewing the ends together on my not so circle scarves!
